Senior Specialist Accounting
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with team members to maintain landscaped areas, performing tasks such as weeding, mulching, watering, pruning, and pesticide application.
- Operate water truck to water plants.
- Operate pickup truck with trailer.
- Operate single axle dump trucks.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Maintain equipment in safe, clean, and proper working condition.
- Weed, mulch, plant, prune, and spray herbicides in landscape areas within the County's ROW.
Education, Experience, Licensing
- Graduation from high school and one year experience in the operation and/or maintenance of trucks or other light automotive equipment.
- Possession of a valid CDL permit with the ability to obtain a Florida Class B CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.
- An acceptable driving record is required.
- DOT Operations may train employee in preparation for testing to obtain CDL.
- Ability to pick up, push, pull or move a 75-pound object.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and work overhead for extended periods of time throughout the day and to work in varied weather conditions outdoors.
- This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation 49CFR-Parts 40 and/or 655.
Supplemental Information
- Ability to carry a backpack sprayer and apply pesticides correctly.
- Ability to set-up work zone under the direction of team leader.
- Ability to recognize disease and insects and plant materials common to Southern Florida.
- Prefer six months experience in landscape maintenance.
Work Hours and Days
- Monday thru Thursday 7AM to 5:30 PM.
Emergency Response/Recovery Activities
All County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed. This may include temporarily being assigned to work and performing duties outside of the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.
