Senior Sourcing Specialist
About the Role
Toyota’s Indirect Procurement Shared Services (IPSS) Department is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Senior Sourcing Specialist for the Enterprise Strategic Programs (ESP) team. This role focuses on leading the creation and execution of procurement strategies for long-term transformation programs at Toyota, which are often high-dollar, cross-functional, and span multiple categories such as consulting, electrification & battery services, and IT systems & technology.
Reporting to the ESP Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will support the Indirect Procurement department’s objective to implement procurement strategies that reduce costs and mitigate risk for the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement multi-year sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories using data analysis and internal collaboration.
- Align strategies with One Toyota objectives, including global initiatives, especially for shared suppliers and/or shared services/commodities.
- Design, plan, manage, and lead key Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) with cross-functional teams.
- Support Toyota Legal and Contracts teams in developing and executing contractual documents, including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Statements of Work, Master Services Agreements, SaaS Agreements, Software License Agreements, Services Agreements, and other contracts as needed.
- Build and maintain close relationships with business unit leaders and supplier partners to deliver cross-enterprise process improvement solutions.
- Negotiate pricing and achieve cost savings while mitigating financial and legal risks for the enterprise.
- Consult stakeholders on best-in-class processes, design, and execution strategies.
- Manage all sourcing and price negotiation activities, including ad hoc business unit requests, resulting in contracts or purchase orders.
- Develop negotiation strategies based on analysis and execute them through supplier negotiations.
- Process business requests to issue purchase orders to suppliers.
- Support Technology Procurement and Sourcing activities for TMNA and its subsidiaries.
- Assist with Procurement and Sourcing for complex and high-profile executive requests (e.g., “white glove” procurement).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement sourcing.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement principles and practices.
- Proven ability to create and implement procurement strategies.
- Experience with Procure-to-Pay tools, including Ariba.
- Experience in the procurement of software and related technology services.
- Contract drafting and negotiation experience with suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, and related tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying complexities and prioritize time-bound deliverables.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills with solid judgment and strategic thinking.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, including experience presenting to VPs and business units.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or advanced graduate degree in business, supply chain, or a related field.
- Automotive industry experience.
