Senior Solutions Architect, Travel & Hospitality, Emerging Industries

About the role

The Senior Solutions Architect, Travel & Hospitality, Emerging Industries will drive the global technical strategy for AWS and work with the world’s largest and most innovative travel & hospitality companies. They will help articulate the technical strategy for AWS in the Travel & Hospitality market, identify and engage key strategic integration and solutions partners, and drive the technical relationships with industry thought leaders and key prospect/customers.

Responsibilities

• Helps develop the strategic plan for AWS, particularly the technical elements of the strategy and plan to engage customers and partners.
• Responsible for understanding the use cases for the Travel & Hospitality industry and developing the AWS-based technical solutions that address those needs. This includes use of, and/or integrations with, third party solutions as well as developing reference architectures that highlight the use of AWS services in partnership with internal and external team.
• Ensures that the broader technical community (SAs, Professional Services consultants, Technical Account Managers, etc.) understand both the use cases and technology involved across the Travel & Hospitality vertical. Works with the Training and Sales Enablement teams to help develop the necessary technical skills and knowledge within the community, in order to help the team be effective in sales cycles.
• Establishes technical credibility in sales cycles (personally or with the broader technical team), and can credibly drive discussions with CTOs, CIOs, Chief Architects, Senior Developers, etc. from both customer and partners across the Travel & Hospitality industry.
• Demonstrates thought leadership in the Travel & Hospitality space, and is able to credibly represent us at industry events, conferences, symposiums, etc.
• Understands the complexities of large Travel & Hospitality enterprise IT environments and has a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, with customers, SIs and ISVs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• 5+ years of experience in Travel & Hospitality (T&H) specific technology domains (e.g. airline, airport, hotel, casino, cruise, ground transport and other T&H specific solutions)
• Experience in building and implementing T&H specific AI enabled solutions

Qualifications

• Technical background enabling engagement and interaction at the highest levels of Travel & Hospitality companies
• Presence and wherewithal to communicate the benefits of cloud computing to the Travel & Hospitality platform architects, infrastructure architects and engineers, and enterprise security and compliance teams
• Strategic and long-term thinking about the needs of global businesses
• Deep familiarity with complex, legacy IT environments including applications, middleware, storage, networks, information security, and operations
