Senior Software Engineer – High Voltage Battery Sensor Communication

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate software for embedded controls systems in the electrification domain for High Voltage Battery Sensor Communication/Wired-Wireless Communication and Sensing.
- Develop and implement Physics and Controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies as well as controller communication.
- Test and demonstrate software functionality & readiness.
- Document requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases that can demonstrate software functionality.
- Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality of the feature at the Controller, System, and Vehicle level.
- Utilize hardware in the loop and vehicle systems to continuously validate software features and improvements.
- Continuously utilize data for software feature refinement and improvement.
- Provide leadership to Agile Scrum team members to deliver software solutions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with departments outside VMEC such as Systems & Safety, Electrical Architecture, Software Defined Vehicle, Calibration, and Vehicle Performance.
- Participate in software planning events, share ideas & learnings, and help teach/train others.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or BS in Computer Science.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in job-related area – embedded controls software.
- Proficient in C, C++ programming.
- Working knowledge of GitHub, Optimus, CPPu, INCA, and MDK.
- Knowledge of Auto Code Generation.
- Experience with JIRA and Scaled Agile Framework.
- Experience with bootloader, embedded operating systems, controller communication or diagnostics.
- Knowledge and experience with CAN, LIN, ARXML, or Ethernet communications protocol.
- Some experience with artificial intelligence (AI) for software development.
Qualifications
- MS in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Computer Science preferred.
- Experience with High Voltage Battery Sensor Communication.
- Knowledge and experience with AUTOSAR standards and methodology.
