Senior Software Engineer - Ai Surfaces

About the Opportunity:The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER role focuses on building and owning AI-driven production agents across the full technology stack. This position involves taking projects from initial customer problems through design, development, launch, and iterative improvement. The engineer contributes to core infrastructure and collaborates closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful legal technology solutions. Responsibilities:Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and associated tools end to end.Maintain evaluation frameworks to guide feature decisions and monitor performance.Contribute to shared infrastructure components supporting AI agents.Employ modern software development practices including continuous deployment and feature flags.Troubleshoot complex, non-deterministic system issues.Participate in design reviews, documentation, code reviews, and mentorship.Collaborate with product, design, and customers to align technology with legal tasks. Requirements:Minimum 5 years experience building production software in continuously deployed, service-oriented teams.Experience shipping large language model-powered features to real users.Proficiency in full-stack web and agentic application development including API integration, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation.Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or equivalent), containers, CI/CD, and production debugging.Strong skills in TypeScript or Python, React frontend, Node or Python services, and PostgreSQL.Experience writing regression-preventing tests.Solid engineering fundamentals in API design, data modeling, concurrency, and reliability.Effective communication skills for technical explanations.Commitment to simplicity demonstrated through previous work. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Salary range: $126,000 to $190,000Compensation includes base salary, annual performance bonus, long-term incentives, benefits, designated time off, parental leave, and equity program.
