About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and supporting complex enterprise software solutions that drive critical business operations. This individual will leverage modern Microsoft technologies, including C# and .NET 8, to build scalable applications, APIs, and integrations while providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, and partnering closely with business stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on development expertise with strong systems analysis skills and a passion for improving applications, processes, and overall software quality.

Responsibilities

  • Performs as a technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of application systems analysis and programming.
  • Provides technical and programming leadership, including consulting and advice on technology to programming staff.
  • Drives efficiencies into the business, expands system capabilities, and implements changes that positively impact business automation.
  • Designs elements of new systems and major modifications according to design guidelines, ensuring time and cost controls.
  • Ensures all hardware and software operate efficiently and utilizes programming tools effectively.
  • Directs activities for programming and technical projects, functioning as an advisor and sometimes as a project leader.
  • Plans work programs considering interdependencies and contingencies beyond own assignment.
  • Performs application systems analysis and programming tasks of significant complexity.
  • Evaluates and determines feasibility of proposed projects and assesses new software packages for cost, resources, and compatibility.
  • Assists in conducting feasibility and refinement sessions, employing full technical knowledge of application systems analysis.
  • Participates in requirements gathering and decision-making sessions, utilizing appropriate methodologies.
  • Maintains up-to-date documentation for the platform being used.
  • Provides technical and application training to programming staff, systems managers, and business units.
  • Mentors programmers and shares unique knowledge and skill sets.
  • Proactively pursues self-development and improvement in technical skill sets.
  • Provides excellent customer service and continually seeks ways to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience (Required).
  • Strong full-stack development experience with C#, .NET 8, Visual Studio, and modern web application frameworks.
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core, LINQ, SQL Server, and/or Oracle databases.
  • Ability to develop and consume REST APIs and support service-based architecture/design patterns.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, ideally including TFS.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team, including motivating co-workers in difficult situations.
  • Proven extensive programming experience outside the organization or in Software Developer roles.
  • Proven technical and programming leadership, with the ability to impact different areas or assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an advisor and project leader for complex systems analysis and programming tasks.
  • Proven ability to provide technical and application training and mentoring to programming staff.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, with examples of adjusting to shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  • Proactiveness in seeking to improve business and technical processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including identifying, defining, and quantifying problems, and providing effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to work under multiple deadlines and minimal supervision, organizing and completing projects with little direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying information clearly and concisely to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to document procedures and activities clearly and accurately.
  • Visual acuity required for tasks such as transcribing, viewing computer terminals, and extensive reading.
  • Proficiency in the specific programming language required by the business unit.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
