Senior Software Developer
About the Role
Join our team of professionals who support large-scale government operations by leveraging cutting-edge technology. The Senior Software Developer is responsible for writing and maintaining source code, creating and maintaining software applications, and applying frameworks involved in a software release. You will support the deployment of new technical solutions, products, and standards, provide guidance to junior team members, and work under limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Develop applications using Java, Struts, JavaScript, Velocity, Android Studio, Flutter, and Oracle SQL
- Develop using technologies such as HTML5, CSS, jQuery, MVC, AJAX, and XML
- Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality
- Design and develop user interfaces
- Support development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
- Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools
- Perform QA for pre-deployment activities
- Utilize Agile development methodologies
- Responsible for computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing
- Involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or equivalent discipline and 6+ years of relevant work experience OR 8+ years of experience without a relevant degree
- 5+ years of experience with Java and JavaScript
- 3+ years of experience with SQL
- Experience with Web application development and object-oriented programming
- Experience with Struts 1, Velocity, Oracle 12, and Bootstrap
- Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems
- Secret Clearance
Skills
- Strong working experience in all phases of the SDLC
- Experience with EW data analysis/library products to support automated tool development is strongly preferred
- Well organized and an effective communicator at multiple levels
- Able to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications
- Capable of quickly learning new systems and associated software applications for proficient execution of tasks
- Capable of managing multiple projects with time-related constraints in a fast-paced environment
- Able to speak effectively before groups of internal and/or external customers or employees
- Ability to use version control and collaborative tools
- Ability to travel

Pay
Estimated salary range: USD $131,600.00 to $150,000.00 per year.
Schedule
100% remote in the DMV area.
