Senior Serviceability Design Engineer - GM Defense
About the role
This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan or Milford, Michigan three times per week, at minimum. Location choice is based on candidates preferred work location and business need for the day.
Responsibilities
- Lead identification of Service Parts for Development of Service Parts BOM
- Support development and validation of service special tools and procedures
- Provide support for emerging and quality issues
- Provide technical support for various other teams including: Program management, Product Engineering, Parts Release, Remanufacturing, Service Training, Warranty Center, Technical Assistance, Assembly Plants, Field support, Suppliers
- Work with other department functions and suppliers to implement cost reduction, math improvements, while supporting all department programs
- Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations
- Stay abreast of new technology and driven practices
- Perform special assignments as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in Serviceability Engineering, Field Service, or Product Support, or related field
- Five (5) years of professional experience
- Practical diagnostic experience, technical/field experience
- Familiarity with service information diagnostics and/or authoring
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in data-driven problem-solving
- Able to make decisions autonomously, manage workload and escalate when necessary
- Eligible to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee)
- Eligible to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology or related discipline
- Illustration and graphics development skills
- Technical writing background
- Dealership technician experience, or equivalent military experience
- Experience working with supplier
- Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance as of the first day of work
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools
- TLC/GDS2/SI/SPS

- Obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Eligible to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire

Pay
The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
Schedule
The schedule for this role is hybrid. The selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}. The selected candidate will be required to travel
