Your Role
As a Senior SEO Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of U.S.-based home service business owners β owning the full cycle from strategy through execution through client communication. This is not a hand-off role. You will diagnose, strategize, execute, and report β bringing energy, specificity, and proactive thinking to every account you manage.
- Managing a portfolio of 8β10 client accounts β serving as the primary point of contact for each business owner and taking full accountability for their local search performance and satisfaction.
- Leading onboarding calls, monthly strategy reviews, and regular check-ins β communicating confidently and authoritatively with business owners who expect specifics, not generalities.
- Auditing local search presence and building customized SEO strategies β diagnosing performance gaps, identifying growth opportunities, and executing with precision across every account.
- Optimizing and actively managing Google Business Profiles β including regular posts, photo uploads, Q&A management, review strategy, and ongoing optimization that keeps profiles performing at their peak.
- Implementing on-site SEO improvements on WordPress websites β including technical fixes, content optimization, internal linking, and metadata updates aligned with local search best practices.
- Building and maintaining local citations and directory listings β ensuring NAP consistency and citation health across all relevant platforms.
- Monitoring rankings, traffic, and lead metrics using tools like BrightLocal, Whitespark, GSC, and GA4 β translating data into clear, actionable insights that clients can understand and act on.
- Social media management for select accounts β contributing to content planning and posting where required alongside the core SEO scope.
- Staying current on Google algorithm updates and local SEO trends β proactively adjusting strategies before clients feel the impact, not after.
- Working comfortably with AI and automation tools the agency uses to streamline SEO workflows β embracing technology as a lever for doing more, faster, and better.
What You'll Need
- 3β5+ years of hands-on local SEO experience β with a proven track record of driving measurable ranking and traffic improvements for local businesses in a competitive search landscape.
- Strong expertise in Google Business Profile optimization β you know every lever available and you pull them all consistently, not just when it's convenient.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts in an agency environment β you hold yourself accountable to results, not just activity.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills β you speak confidently and intelligently with business owners, give specific actionable recommendations, and never hide behind vague strategy talk.
- Solid understanding of on-site SEO for local businesses β including WordPress implementation, technical basics, and content optimization.
- Strong work ethic and proactive mindset β you go beyond the minimum, bring energy to every client interaction, and take initiative without being asked.
- Availability to work U.S. Central or Eastern Time hours β to effectively serve both East and West Coast clients across the portfolio.
- Comfortable with AI tools and marketing automation platforms β the agency automates heavily and you need to work efficiently within that environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a professional remote home office setup.
- Bonus: experience in the home services or trades industry β HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical, or landscaping.
- Bonus: familiarity with BrightLocal, Whitespark, GA4, Google Search Console, or Google Local Services Ads (LSAs).
- Bonus: experience with social media management alongside SEO in an agency context.
