Responsibilities
- Applies scientific method and experimental design in problem solving.
- Uses scientific expertise to provide solutions to a broad range of difficult problems.
- Communicates progress status to supervisor.
- Performs complicated or demanding assignments requiring specialized knowledge.
- Offers solutions that are creative and/or inventive.
- Defines short and mid-term objectives and implements plan to accomplish objectives.
- Maintains accurate, precise, and legible laboratory notebooks.
- Frequently communicates status updates across the organization.
- Maintains good documentation.
- Writes reports and technical summaries.
- Represents the company to outside organizations on technical issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor's, Master's Degree or Ph.D. Degree.
- Experience: Bachelor's plus 7 years of relevant experience or Master's plus 5 years of relevant experience or Ph.D. degree plus 0 - 1 year of experience.
- Hematology experience required, including expertise in blood analysis techniques, interpretation of hematologic data, and familiarity with relevant laboratory methodologies.
- Skills & Capabilities:
- Technical leadership, problem solving skills, effective time management, team management, effective in building cross-functional relationships, and effective communication.
- Broad use and application of scientific principles, theories and concepts in field of expertise.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities higher than Scientist III level.
Pay
The annual salary range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $110,000 to $130,000. Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
