Senior Scheduler

About the role

This traveling, project-based position requires up to 90% travel to project sites across the U.S. Projects typically last 8–18 months, with one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home. Designated per diem and potential mobilization support (including mileage reimbursement) are provided to help cover living expenses.

Responsibilities

• Establish the proposal or project baseline schedule.
• Lead and execute project planning and execution planning sessions.
• Lead logic development, schedule updates, and forecasting.
• Work with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to define key milestones and interface dates.
• Resource and commodity load schedules and provide associated graphics.
• Author and update the scheduling narrative in weekly and monthly reports.
• Lead compliance and project controls oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure client project controls and reporting specifications and requirements are met per contract.
• Support project management with project reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical major; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Seven years of project controls schedule analysis or related work experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Workface Planning techniques and scheduling requirements is a plus.
• Professional-level certification (AACE, PMI, or other) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Office 365, InEight, and/or related project controls software.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering and contract documents.
• Understanding and knowledge of complex earned value and cost control methods.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks and assignments.
• Exceptional team-building and collaboration skills across the organization.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend complex assignments and work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
• Maintain physical strength and stamina; push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb.
• Stamina to perform tasks repetitively and continuously for several-hour intervals in uncontrolled environmental conditions (extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises).
• Wear personal protective equipment (safety-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
• Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas; work at heights while adhering to all safety and fall-protection requirements.
• Evaluate information based on measurable standards; visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings; recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.
• Keep good balance; see and hear well (naturally or with correction); coordinate use of eyes, hands, and feet.

Pay

$145,000 – $165,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time position typically scheduled for 50 hours per week; schedule subject to project requirements.
