About the role
The Senior Sales Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role bridging cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technology with global mission success. Reporting to the HO Growth & Marketing, this individual ensures that complex customer requirements are seamlessly translated into tailored, high-flying realities.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical capture efforts, ensuring solutions are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with Flexrotor’s product roadmap.
- Provide expertise on products and services to drive customer engagement, solution alignment, and successful deal capture.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for Business Development (BD) engagements, interfacing cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Program Management to ensure customer needs are met.
- Manage technical content for proposals, white papers, and capability briefs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, customer-friendly language for proposals, and presentations.
- Support compliance checks (e.g., export, regulatory, and denied party screening) for technical offerings.
- Develop and execute technical strategies that result in high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals to maximize win probability.
- Support competitive analysis and market intelligence, ensuring the sales team remains informed on industry trends and competitor capabilities.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, including pre-sales technical support, proposal contributions, and solution development.
- Provide training to Offer and Sales teams on technical aspects of the Flexrotor, enabling them to articulate our value proposition confidently.
- Liaison with Engineering: Act as the bridge between sales and engineering, ensuring alignment on customer requirements, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communications between sales and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and prioritize customer needs.
- Act as a strategic bridge between client needs and technical execution, directly influencing the long-term product vision and engineering roadmap.
- Carefully coordinate updates to product configurations and pricing databases in collaboration with engineering.
- Marketing and Event Support: Support the creation and maintenance of technical marketing collateral (brochures, presentations, digital assets).
- Support logistics for trade shows, conferences, and customer demos, including technical setup and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Eight (8) + years of experience in technical sales or solutions engineering, program management or related field.
- Five (5) + years experience in the aviation, aerospace, or UAS industry.
- Five (5) + years experience working with cross-functional teams, especially engineering and sales.
- Domestic and International travel involved.
- Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and data analysis tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messaging for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Operator level proficiency in MS Office 365, GSuite applications, Adobe Acrobat, and Solidworks.
Qualifications
- Onsite or remote: 90%
- Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
- Daily Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
- Daily Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
- Daily Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Daily Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs/5kgs.
- Daily. Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs/5kgs.
- Daily. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
- Occasionally Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
- Daily Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
- Occasionally Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Daily Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
- Frequently Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.

Pay
Salary range based on the required profile: $143,000 - $229,000/year. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
