This position is fully remote and full-time, focusing on accelerating growth within the Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) market. You will build and manage a strong pipeline by partnering with brokers, producers, employers, and prospects across employee benefits and property & casualty markets.
About the role
- Source and develop new PFML sales opportunities through brokers, producers, employers, prospects, and other distribution partners while maintaining a healthy and active pipeline.
- Conduct a minimum of 30 outbound sales activities per day through phone calls, email campaigns, virtual meetings, and other prospecting channels.
- Build and strengthen relationships with employee benefits and property & casualty producers, serving as a trusted resource throughout the sales cycle.
- Educate broker partners and employer audiences through virtual webinars, presentations, and educational sessions on PFML legislation, product features, underwriting requirements, and market positioning.
- Review and qualify RFPs, collect required information, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate quoting.
- Partner with Sales Support Specialists to deliver proposals, maintain broker communication, coordinate follow-ups, and create a seamless buying experience.
- Collaborate closely with Underwriting to provide complete and accurate submissions and support competitive, timely proposal development.
- Drive quote-to-close conversion through consistent follow-up, opportunity management, and proactive broker engagement.
- Achieve individual and team sales objectives while positioning solutions within established profitability guidelines.
- Use Salesforce, sales intelligence platforms, and market data to identify opportunities, prioritize outreach, and improve pipeline development.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including broker interactions, pipeline activity, call logs, opportunity status, and relevant notes.
- Monitor state-specific PFML regulatory developments to support accurate, compliant product positioning and sales conversations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- At least 5 years of insurance sales experience, preferably within employee benefits.
- Active Life & Health insurance license required.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, broker distribution models, and competitive market dynamics.
- Proven experience in high-volume outbound sales and a strong professional phone presence.
- Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform for pipeline and opportunity management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong listening, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to understand customer and broker business challenges and position relevant solutions effectively.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach with a consistent track record of pursuing and exceeding sales objectives.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-activity environment.
- Ability to build credibility and communicate effectively with brokers, producers, employers, underwriting teams, and other stakeholders.
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail, particularly when managing RFPs, submissions, proposals, and sales documentation.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
