The Senior Rotating Equipment Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides advanced technical expertise, governance, and reliability leadership across all Nouryon Specialty Chemicals sites in the Americas region. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of critical rotating assets and supports Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams through expert guidance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Serve as regional authority for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, turbines, gearboxes, mechanical seals).
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex or high-impact equipment issues.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and ensure long-term corrective action implementation.
- Develop and standardize rotating equipment maintenance strategies aligned with Nouryon standards and industry best practices.
- Support capital projects in equipment selection, design review, and commissioning.
- Mentor site engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel to strengthen regional capability.
- Promote knowledge sharing and alignment with Nouryon’s global maintenance and reliability processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience with rotating equipment in chemical, petrochemical, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Strong expertise in vibration analysis, predictive maintenance, and equipment failure analysis.
- Deep knowledge of API, ISO, ANSI, ASME, and related technical standards.
Skills
- Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred):
- Vibration Analyst Category II or III (ISO 18436‑2).
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP).
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE).
- RCFA methodology certification (Apollo, TapRooT®, or similar).
- Preferred Certifications:
- Machinery Lubrication (MLA or MLT).
- Reliability Leader Certification (CRL).
- PMP Certification.
- Mechanical seal technical training (OEM-certified).
