Key Responsibilities
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, safety, planning, and operations teams to identify opportunities for enhanced product quality through advanced inspection technologies such as X-ray systems, metal detection, checkweighing, and laser-based solutions.
- Develop and implement automation initiatives utilizing robotics, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), intelligent warehousing systems, and other Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Identify and deploy best-practice technologies that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
- Lead the design, construction, installation, startup, and commissioning of process and packaging equipment lines.
- Apply packaging and process automation principles while considering product characteristics and packaging design requirements.
- Collaborate with internal operations teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure reliable, safe, and compliant production systems.
- Troubleshoot issues involving equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes in coordination with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supplier teams.
- Develop and execute equipment capability studies, validation protocols, and production trials to support new process implementation.
- Support equipment qualification and validation activities, including FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and compliant operations.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices based on project learnings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop detailed project schedules, monitor execution, and coordinate activities among internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in equipment, process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience within a regulated manufacturing environment such as food, beverage, nutraceutical, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
- Experience with manufacturing automation, process equipment, and quality inspection technologies.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and their impact on equipment performance and production efficiency.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to optimize equipment performance, productivity, and throughput.
