Responsibilities
- Research and develop new equipment and manufacturing methods, collaborating with Design Services and specialized engineering companies.
- Initiate technical exchanges with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency by modernizing equipment and methods.
- Influence team decisions across the organization to enhance process engineering methods and equipment validation requirements.
- Routinely report technical project updates and new technologies to management.
- Estimate future manufacturing requirements and perform capacity analyses to inform executive decisions on capital investment.
- Collaborate with appropriate departments to develop product design and tooling processes for efficient processing methods.
- Analyze data for investigation, productivity improvement, and cost analysis; document and communicate results.
- Install, validate, and troubleshoot processing equipment; generate appropriate documentation.
- Achieve compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols.
- Assist Process Engineers and Engineering Services team in troubleshooting problems.
- Mentor and guide junior equipment engineers.
- Present data and reports to senior colleagues and management.
- Conduct risk assessments of equipment and processes, including product safety, employee safety, and environmental impact.
- Periodically evaluate equipment performance to ensure efficiency and high quality.
- Design and develop forms, instructions, and layouts for operation, cleaning, preventive maintenance, and calibration of processing equipment.
- Analyze and plan space requirements and work flows; design equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Create and conduct training materials and sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7 years of experience in tool and equipment design, optimization, validation, and maintenance
- Experience in CAD (Solid Edge preferred) and mechanical schematics
- Experience designing and implementing equipment solutions to stabilize and scale up processes
- Managerial experience or experience leading teams preferred
