Responsibilities
- Participation in pre TAR planning, TAR supervision and execution
- Follow up reports and possible external shop monitoring of components to make repair recommendations and monitor quality control
- Support the preparation of CTE Guidance Documents for selected Group documents (GTs and GEs)
- Review selected RCA reports for both Process Safety and Reliability incidents
- Lead and/or participate in selected incident investigations
- Support the development of selected risk assessments for new and existing assets and in the implementation of subsequent action plans
- Support selected entity and Group level LI IMS audits in the Americas Hub as technical auditor
- Participate in the Air Liquide Group level working groups developing GTs in the rotating machinery technology area
- Ability to troubleshoot design problems or calculations from OEM which lead to improper operational parameters, or consistent downtime
- Design support for organization for the execution of new capital projects
- Act as owner's representative for the design reviews as required
- Provide engineering with technical support and guidance for Plant Projects
- Serve as design authority as required
- Review and provide risk assessment for proposed changes to existing rotating machinery via Management of Change (MOC) process
- In cooperation with E&C, develop standard equipment specification and engineering practices for rotating machinery
- Ensure subsidiary compliance with directives from AL Group related to rotating machinery
- Provide operations support to all entities in regards to rotating machinery
- Collaborate with Large Rotating machinery vendors and OEM’s, ensuring quality control in repairs, and witness assembly and testing of equipment as required
- Respond to urgent rotating machinery issues
- Applies process understanding and control systems strategies in order to improve reliability and/or efficiency and through support of CTE’s Process Control Technology department
- Recommend process and cost savings improvement opportunities
- Issue advisories to spread Best Practices and prevent recurrence of incidents
- Be aware of Group initiatives for rotating machinery technology domain as these are provided from Group level organizations
- Provide interpretation to entities for implementation and participate in the development of such programs
- Provide support for Group programs for rotating machinery technology including developing the implementation plan together with the entities and monitoring compliance status
- Participate strongly in Americas Rotating Machinery Technology KNOE and if assigned, participate in WW CoP Training
- Build a documented knowledge base of Rotating Machinery technology operational expertise
- Provide technical content and training for Rotating Machinery technology
- Mentor and support developing employees to expand knowledge sharing; disseminate rather than protect information
- Act as coach for proteges (assigned or otherwise)
- Attend and contribute to selected project development meetings
- Provide technical support to CI during the development and execution of new Rotating Machinery capital projects
Qualifications
- BS Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required with +15 years of rotating machinery experience
- Detailed knowledge of various types of compressors, turbines, pumps, and fan designs and maintenance
- Solution-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Lubrication knowledge and expertise
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to perform under stress and time constraints
- Comfortable in both corporate and plant environments
- Able to effectively work within a diverse, international organization
- Can be consulted 24/7 by Plant Managers and Maintenance personnel
- Able to wear FRC clothing and other PPE
- Advanced skills with Google suite of tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc.)
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related operational and safety trainings
- Up to 50% domestic travel
