Senior RF Test Engineer

About the role

CesiumAstro develops innovative communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space‑borne platforms. The Senior RF Test Engineer will design, analyze, and implement engineering test plans and procedures for leading‑edge satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and test engineering teams to develop test requirements.
• Map requirements to reusable test architectures and procedures.
• Implement test plans and procedures, and log and present results to key stakeholders.
• Manage laboratory space and test equipment, including guiding key equipment purchase decisions.
• Architect RF test systems and draw insightful conclusions from test results.
• Participate in “design for test” planning and reviews early in RF product development.
• Present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team.
• Contribute to proposal‑writing efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution (minimum 5 years experience with a BS, or 4 years with a MS).
• Industry experience designing, analyzing, and implementing RF test systems.
• High proficiency with RF measurements (linearity, NSD, EVM, etc.).
• Experience designing test architectures, including scripting, test executives, hardware, and measurement abstraction layers.
• Proficiency with statistics and metrology as applied to RF test design.
• Hands‑on experience with lab instruments such as digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity or hands‑on experience with phased‑array testing.
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, etc.).
• Understanding of RF and mixed‑signal hardware (amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, antennas) and its impact on test design.
