Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will demonstrate strong ownership, judgment, and attention to detail while performing assigned responsibilities and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Review of transactions for compliance with ASC-606 revenue standards
- Reconcile transactions issued by the supply chain team for multiple territories
- Perform revenue data analysis in revenue and accounts receivable and associated reserves
- Prepare and review gross-to-net accruals and related reserve analyses
- Support revenue recognition for product sales and collaboration arrangements
- Analyze chargebacks, rebates, returns, government pricing-related reserves, and other deductions from revenue
- Reconcile distributor, wholesaler, or third-party logistics activity to revenue and AR records
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve the speed and efficiency of the monthly revenue close
- Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, commercial, and various business owners on a variety of projects
- Perform and maintain assigned internal controls on a monthly basis
- Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis at month-end close
- Participate in revenue accounting projects, including system enhancements, process improvements, automation initiatives, and implementation of new business models or contract arrangements
- Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
- Aid in financial reporting during the month-end close process
- Analyze/prepare aging reports and perform collection efforts as needed
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in accounting
- Experience with pharmaceutical/biotech revenue models, such as product revenue, gross-to-net, rebates, chargebacks, distributor arrangements, returns reserves, and government pricing (a plus)
- Experience with ERP systems and revenue subledger tools (preferred)
- Public company, SOX, or external audit experience (preferred)
- CPA or CPA track (preferred)
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint & Word (strong analytical skills)
- Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP experience (preferred)
Pay Range
The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 USD - $123,600 USD.
