Senior Research Associate in Children's Social Care

About the role

We are looking to recruit an experienced researcher to assist in producing a systematic review and other papers linked to a project concerned with care leavers. The purpose of this role is to work with the Chief Investigator to produce outputs of a high standard and to a tight timescale.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a range of activities associated with producing high quality outputs, including a systematic review of evidence concerned with help-seeking amongst young people.
• Be responsible for identifying, critically appraising and synthesising evidence relevant to those working with care leavers and other populations of young people often deemed ‘vulnerable’.
• Develop appropriate search strategies, understand how to assess risk of bias, and be familiar with a range of approaches to evidence synthesis, covering different study designs and data.
• Quickly orient yourself to briefs, have excellent project management skills and experience.
• Work independently and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Have excellent writing skills and a strong record of publications.

Requirements

You are an established researcher with an understanding of children’s social care and the methodologies associated with the syntheses of qualitative and quantitative evidence. You are able to develop appropriate search strategies, understand how to assess risk of bias, and be familiar with a range of approaches to evidence synthesis, covering different study designs and data. You can quickly orient yourself to briefs, have excellent project management skills and experience. You can work independently and deliver to tight deadlines. You have excellent writing skills and a strong record of publications.
