Senior Reconciliation Analyst
About the Role
The Senior Reconciliation Analyst performs reconciliation of a large number of deposit, loan, and payments assets, liability, income, and expense accounts to the general ledger. This includes significant accounts such as Loan Control, Loans in Process, Loan Payments in Process, investor accounts, disbursement accounts, Bank operating checking accounts, Deposit Control, CD Control, and Teller Cash & ATM reconciliation. The role utilizes systems like Prologue, Frontier, FIS IBS Core, and various reports and spreadsheets to manage accounts. The reconciliation process involves transaction matching and balancing subsystems with the general ledger, requiring validation of loan, deposit, and payments balances against total cash balances in the GL.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile and oversee the balancing of numerous accounts based on established frequencies, including researching outages and rectifying stale-dated items.
- Continuously follow up on reconciling items, provide updates, and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Assist operations staff with outages and provide research support.
- Maintain documentation for supporting files, reports, and data.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports and file the Doc Stamp remittance for the State of Florida Department of Revenue.
- Assist in gathering items for internal and external auditors, providing organized documents and prompt responses.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions, including reviewing financial information and converting data to the general ledger system.
- Support efforts to modernize policies, procedures, and automation tools.
- Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and procedures related to transaction processing.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with AML/BSA requirements, operational procedures, audit procedures, risk/control expectations, dual control, security, and Business Continuity.
- Follow Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and all safety and security procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, treasury, or banking, with an emphasis on loan accounting, financial controls, and systems.
- Knowledge of banking functions, operations, reconciliation processes, and controls.
- Understanding of general ledger entries and their impact on reconciliation.
- Ability to analyze differences, perform investigations, and summarize results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, handle sensitive information, and meet deadlines.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional non-bank operational hours.
