Responsibilities
- Manage suppliers in North America and collaborate with global colleagues to procure competitive solutions.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies.
- Procure crane services for turbine repair, maintenance, and special projects.
- Represent global initiatives at the Regional Procurement Officer (RPO) level.
- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including specification development, quote process, supplier selection, contract development, stakeholder management, and business awards.
- Provide weekly reports on contract status, including future projects, to align stakeholders with customer expectations.
- Interpret technical specifications and develop business cases with total cost of ownership financial analysis.
- Directly manage new and existing regional supplier relationships and build global supplier partnerships.
- Manage and implement all aspects of the supplier development, contracting, and buy-to-pay processes, including risk management.
- Act as the primary point of escalation and resolution for scope-related supplier issues.
- Mentor other Purchasers in RPO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in global supply chain management, engineering, or other related business studies.
- 5+ years' work experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Significant experience gathering market intelligence and building business cases.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookup.
- Advanced contract management experience.
- Advanced negotiation experience for supplier negotiations.
- Industry experience in renewables, energy, manufacturing, or similar environments.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Solid familiarity with commercial contracts and experience negotiating contract redlines with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
- High level of business acumen, including understanding of financial statements, cash flow, EBIT, inventory, etc.
- Project management skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to create and deliver presentations and business cases.
- Ability to lead a cross-functional team.
- Aptitude for construction, transport of large goods, or technology.
- Self-motivated, able to make sound decisions, and capable of working in tight deadlines.
- Strategic purchasing experience, not just operational procurement/buying.
