Senior Purchaser

Responsibilities

• Manage suppliers in North America and collaborate with global colleagues to procure competitive solutions.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies.
• Procure crane services for turbine repair, maintenance, and special projects.
• Represent global initiatives at the Regional Procurement Officer (RPO) level.
• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including specification development, quote process, supplier selection, contract development, stakeholder management, and business awards.
• Provide weekly reports on contract status, including future projects, to align stakeholders with customer expectations.
• Interpret technical specifications and develop business cases with total cost of ownership financial analysis.
• Directly manage new and existing regional supplier relationships and build global supplier partnerships.
• Manage and implement all aspects of the supplier development, contracting, and buy-to-pay processes, including risk management.
• Act as the primary point of escalation and resolution for scope-related supplier issues.
• Mentor other Purchasers in RPO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in global supply chain management, engineering, or other related business studies.
• 5+ years' work experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Significant experience gathering market intelligence and building business cases.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookup.
• Advanced contract management experience.
• Advanced negotiation experience for supplier negotiations.
• Industry experience in renewables, energy, manufacturing, or similar environments.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Solid familiarity with commercial contracts and experience negotiating contract redlines with suppliers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
• High level of business acumen, including understanding of financial statements, cash flow, EBIT, inventory, etc.
• Project management skills.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to create and deliver presentations and business cases.
• Ability to lead a cross-functional team.
• Aptitude for construction, transport of large goods, or technology.
• Self-motivated, able to make sound decisions, and capable of working in tight deadlines.
• Strategic purchasing experience, not just operational procurement/buying.
