Hachette Nashville is seeking a Senior Publicist to lead publicity campaigns for faith-based nonfiction titles across its imprints, Apiary and FaithWords.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute full-scale publicity campaigns, including booking national and local media, managing author tours and events, and overseeing travel arrangements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with press (broadcast, radio, print, digital, trades, podcasts) and research new media outlets.
- Brainstorm innovative publicity strategies to maximize exposure and sales for 12-15 titles annually.
- Collaborate with Apiary and FaithWords authors and agents on all aspects of publicity campaigns.
- Communicate with internal editorial, marketing, and sales teams to align publicity strategies.
- Create media lists, press materials (press kits, releases, pitch letters, author Q&As), and pitch producers, editors, and bookers to secure coverage.
- Build and maintain relationships with booksellers and event venues.
- Support author appearances, media opportunities, and industry events, including travel as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 4+ years of publicity experience.
- Broad knowledge of and genuine interest in publishing, media, and influencers within the religion category.
- Established relationships with national and regional media contacts covering books and religion.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Muck Rack, Podchaser, Meltwater, Net Galley, and Edelweiss.

Pay
