About the role

The Senior Psychologist, CF (Supervisor) is responsible for the direct training and clinical/administrative supervision of subordinate staff psychologists as assigned. He/she performs the most difficult psychological evaluations and associated treatment of incarcerated patients, assists in program development and evaluation, research, training, clinical consultation, and revision of department policy and procedures. The incumbent functions as a specialized psychological consultant to the institutional staff upon request.

  • Aid in program development and evaluation.
  • Contribute to research.
  • Provide training.
  • Offer clinical consultation.
  • Revise department policy and procedures.
  • Function as a specialized psychological consultant to the institutional staff upon request.

Requirements

Requires a Doctorate in Psychology, with a specialty in Clinical Psychology, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Must have a valid California Psychological Internship and Training Commission (PITC) license, and be certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Proficiency in clinical assessment and intervention techniques is required. Knowledge of correctional psychology and the ability to work effectively with a diverse inmate population is preferred.

Pay

Base salary is commensurate with experience. Additional benefits may include a recruitment and retention bonus, a pay differential, and a recruitment and retention differential during the first year of employment.

Schedule

This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. Recruitment and Retention Bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services.
