Senior Psychologist (Broughton Hospital)

Responsibilities
- Provide a full array of psychological services to inpatient adults with severe, persistent mental illness, including but not limited to individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and individualized treatment and behavioral planning.
- Conduct psychological evaluations.
- Perform behavioral, substance abuse, and other types of assessments and treatments.
- Determine violence and suicide risk.
- Assess and treat various psych legal issues, including capacity to proceed and sexual offending.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Offer testimony in civil commitment and/or other legal proceedings as needed.
- Support the training programs supported by the hospital and the Psychology department, including supervising postdoctoral residents, predoctoral interns, Master's level and undergraduate practicum students, and serving as a faculty member of the predoctoral internship program.
- Offer expert didactic training for students and other staff, as needed.
Requirements
Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and two years of professional psychological experience, one of which must be postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regarding experience requirements.
Qualifications
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Experience conducting psychological assessments such as cognitive and/or personality assessments.
- Experience providing a wide range of clinical treatment/interventions.
- Experience with program development and positive systems development.
- Prior supervisory experience.

Recruitment Range: $82,857.00 - $136,714.00
A Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
