About the role

A well-established real estate investment and management firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its growing team. The organization owns and operates a diverse portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties across multiple states. This role will support accounting operations across multiple entities, with a focus on financial reporting, month-end close, and consolidations. It offers strong visibility, exposure to leadership, and the opportunity to grow within a stable, team-oriented environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements for multiple entities and partnerships
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and eliminations
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Assist with budgeting and financial performance tracking
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting
  • Review expenses for accuracy and alignment with budgets
  • Support annual audit processes and prepare supporting documentation
  • Maintain accounting procedures and ensure adherence to internal controls
  • Assist with process improvements and system enhancements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1.5–3 years of accounting experience (Staff or Property Accountant preferred)
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and core accounting principles
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Yardi preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience

  • In real estate, property management, or multi-entity environments
  • Exposure to consolidations and financial statement preparation
