Senior Project Manager, Transportation

About the role

The ideal candidate will manage and oversee the design and construction of infrastructure projects for the Transportation practice. This role requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees the design and construction of infrastructure projects for the Transportation practice.
• Works closely with the Transportation Team Leader in the development and delivery of TxDOT roadway / transportation projects.
• Develops and manages project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules and collaborates with clients and stakeholders.
• Manages multiple transportation tasks or projects in support of business needs.
• Manages other consultant teams and the workload of design staff including Engineers, EIT’s, and technical staff that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways.
• Reviews transportation deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
• Develops a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
• Reports on project progress and budgets.
• Works with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.
• Manage design and plan production as well as manage clients and supervise technical staff through workshare opportunities with various practices and offices at Halff.
• Value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Transportation Industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas.
• At least 15 years of experience in TxDOT roadway / transportation project delivery.
• MicroStation CADD and OpenRoads experience required.
• Ability to lead a project, technical staff, and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Experience managing roadway design projects and plan production.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to quality, positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
• TxDOT experience (as a TxDOT employee or consultant) is desirable.
• Primavera (P6) Experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Skills

• Strong design and project management experience.
• Knowledge of working with local entities.
• Leadership and supervisory experience.
• Project management software proficiency (e.g., Primavera P6).

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
