Senior Project Manager, Transportation

About the role

This position is based out of a project site in Harrisburg, PA, then transitioning to our New Castle, PA office.

Responsibilities

• Manage one large project or multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities from start to finish, including estimating, contract negotiations, project design, technical direction, quality control, job scheduling, financial oversight, problem resolution, job completion, coordination, communication, client satisfaction activities and other related duties.
• Manage a team of project management employees and have responsibility for business development, project budgets, projections and contracts, job solicitation and project negotiations, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.
• Assist civil construction projects including trenching, excavating, directional drilling, underground fiber, specialized bus duct excavation, signs, and communications systems.

Requirements

• Proficient in project management tools and methodologies, with experience in negotiation, budgeting, estimating, cost control, contracting, scheduling, pricing, and compliance with applicable codes.
• Has DoT experience with a minimum of 10 years.
• Experience or proficiency with Heavy Bid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in mechanical, or civil engineering, project management, construction management, or a related field.
• Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
• Trained and proficient in project management tools and techniques, negotiating, budgeting, estimating, costing, contracting, scheduling, pricing, and common code requirements.
• Show ability to diagnose complex problems with strategic critical thinking skills and detail orientation, and to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative and sensitivity.
• Knowledge of and proficiency with construction methods and materials, costing, and general industry safety and OSHA standards, procedures, and regulations.
• Strong business analysis and mathematical skills.

• Excellent communicator/collaborator, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and concepts and the ability to build strong working teams, cultures, and relationships at all levels and with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other community leaders.
• Strong business development, documentation, and report preparation skills.
