About the Role

The Senior Project Manager (PM) leads project teams and plans, directs, and coordinates activities of large-scale, energy efficiency, capital improvement, and major maintenance-focused construction projects supporting large energy asset operations. Ensures that projects are completed safely, with a high level of quality, and on-time and on/under budget. Manages all aspects of project phases, from conceptual through pre-construction to completion. Acts as the primary liaison with clients, existing plant operations and maintenance staff, and supports the development of subcontract and procurement documentation, including scope of work, equipment/material lists, and specifications. Negotiates subcontract and procurement scope, terms, and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor safe working conditions; identify, correct, and report unsafe work areas; enforce safety compliance.
  • Develop and review project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards, and quotes from suppliers.
  • Lead, plan, direct, and coordinate all project activities to ensure goals and objectives are achieved within established timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Manage all field resources and personnel, ensuring professional project execution from construction through project close-out.
  • Coordinate shop drawings and submittals, develop and process change orders, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Track project progress and schedules, prepare and track invoices, and manage financial planning, cost forecasting, and schedule management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience in construction project management, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and/or management experience in plant operations and/or maintenance.
  • Expertise in construction project management methodologies, with experience managing projects in alignment with construction contracts and a strong understanding of engineering and construction documents and processes.
  • Ability to review and interpret schematic, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical/electrical plant components (pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, metering devices).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience resolving challenging situations requiring tact and collaboration to maintain cost-effective operations.
  • Demonstrated project budgeting, cost tracking, and cost estimating experience.
  • Experience preparing estimates and value engineering.
  • Ability to climb and walk long distances, lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at various high elevations and ladders/scaffolds.
  • Computer-based analytical skills, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and tracking using software such as Primavera and other common construction project management applications.
  • Effective written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation, and technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple prime subcontractors on construction projects.
  • Experience working on Design-Build contract projects.
  • Professional Certification such as Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Pay

Expected salary range of $109,800 to $122,000, varies based on experience.
