About the Role

Under supervision, this position is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing the management of multiple departmental, large-scale, and complex projects focused on improvement or development of healthcare settings and/or System-wide initiatives in support of strategic goals. Supports collaborative development with various business teams and drives process improvements for the successful management of overall project lifecycles, supporting provision of all deliverables from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements all aspects of clinical projects and programs to ensure organizational goals of time, cost, and quality standards are met.
• Manages all aspects of clinical project lifecycles including planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery that support clinical performance and competency.
• Coordinates clinical research projects and provides programmatic, clinical, and project management oversight for all aspects of trials and projects.
• Develops and provides technical guidance in the creation of administrative and operational processes, templates, procedures/protocols, and other core documents.
• Utilizes project/program management tools and techniques to organize, plan, execute, report, and evaluate project/program objectives.
• Defines clinical project milestones and develops and reviews plans and specifications of assigned projects.
• Prepares and reviews project reports and metrics.
• Confers with planning and estimating personnel to determine project scope, schedules, and budget validity.
• Ensures adequate funds are budgeted and available before commitments are made.
• Consults with departmental leadership and key stakeholders to develop implementation schedules and operational plans.
• Coordinates reviews among internal teams, planning staff, and local healthcare administrators to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensures scope statements, estimates, and contract documents are prepared in accordance with standards and operating procedures.
• Reviews progress and cost statements, including cumulative change order costs, to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Monitors progress against milestones, key deliverables, and other performance indicators; manages risk by anticipating issues and developing contingency plans.
• Evaluates funding status and additional requirements for all cost elements such as site design and construction costs.
• Directs schedule development, monitoring, and coordination of assigned clinical projects, informing personnel of start-up operations and completion dates.
• Analyzes problems and critical situations, developing alternative solutions and implementing decisions.
• Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program activity data to evaluate clinical performance and competence.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Healthcare Management, Engineering, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related discipline; and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in projects and programs management, execution, and implementation, two (2) years of which must have been in the administration, management, and/or execution of projects and programs of various complexities, including work in healthcare program planning, research, design, or a related area.
• OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the disciplines listed above or a related discipline; and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as described above, three (3) of which must have been in the administration, management, and/or execution of projects and programs of various complexities, including work in healthcare program planning, research, design, or a related area.
• OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline listed above or a related discipline; and possession of a valid, professional certification (Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean Six Sigma (LSS) green belt or above, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or SAFe Agilist (SA)); and four (4) years of experience as described above, two (2) years of which must have been in the administration, management, and/or execution of projects and programs of various complexities, including work in healthcare program planning, research, design, or a related area.
