Senior Project Architect/Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Project Architect plays a central role in both design leadership and project execution at Cardello Architects. Working directly with the firm’s Partners, this position leads all phases of the architectural process—from conceptual design and client presentations through construction administration—ensuring each project reflects the firm’s commitment to design excellence and technical precision. This role also serves as a key leader within the studio, mentoring staff, reinforcing standards, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing design culture.
Essential Functions
Design Leadership & Project Management
Lead projects through all phases: feasibility, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administrationUphold the firm’s design vision by delivering thoughtful, well-executed solutions that balance creativity with technical rigor
Maintain accountability for project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Mentorship & Collaboration
Foster a collaborative studio environment that supports professional growth and shared learningMentor and oversee junior and intermediate staff, promoting consistency in both design and documentation
Career Development & Mentorship
Coordinate closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals and design intent
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Licensed Architect; NCARB certification preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
15+ years of experience in high-end custom residential designRequired Skills & Competencies
Software: Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Morpholio Trace and Monograph is a plus
Design: Strong ability to translate conceptual ideas into buildable solutions
Project Management: Skilled in complex, multi-phase residential projects
Communication: Excellent presentation and relationship management skills, particularly with high-net-worth clientsPhysical & Visual Requirements
Ability to work seated for extended periods at a computer or drafting table
Ability to navigate office and active construction sites safely
Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment
Strong visual acuity for interpreting drawings and technical documents

Standard hours: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, with flexibility as needed
