About the role

The Senior Program Coordinator for Student Engagement independently manages the coordination and implementation of student-focused initiatives that promote engagement, academic success, leadership development, and community connection within the Office of Academic and Community Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinate and manage the full lifecycle of student engagement programs, including planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Manage multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously, ensuring alignment with departmental and institutional priorities
  • Oversee program logistics, including scheduling, space reservations, communications, materials, and vendor coordination
  • Coordinate workshops, retreats, speaker series, service opportunities, and campus events
  • Maintain program timelines, registration processes, and participant tracking systems
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of programs and a positive participant experience
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for student participants and student leaders involved in engagement initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to student organizations and student leaders affiliated with the office
  • Facilitate workshops, trainings, and reflection activities that support student learning and leadership development
  • Maintain an active presence at student engagement opportunities such as orientation, recruitment, and major campus events
  • Support initiatives that promote student belonging, connection, and success
  • Support campus collaboration and partnership, including collaborating with campus departments, faculty, staff, and community partners to support student engagement initiatives
  • Aid in coordinating partnership-based programs and community engagement opportunities
  • Support outreach and communication efforts to increase student participation and program visibility
  • Represent the office at meetings and events as appropriate
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain program participation and engagement data
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on assessment findings
  • Maintain program records, databases, and documentation
  • Support day-to-day administrative operations, including budget tracking and purchasing support
  • Aid in developing and refining processes to improve program delivery and operational efficiency
  • Supervise a graduate assistant, including onboarding, training, task delegation, and performance feedback
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and work direction to student staff, volunteers, or program participants as applicable
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
  • 5 years of professional experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of student development principles and best practices in student engagement and co-curricular programming
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and support students
  • Facilitation skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with campus and community partners
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming, student-centered environment
  • Proficiency with standard office and program management systems
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
