About the role
The Senior Planner/Buyer will be responsible for purchasing raw, imported, domestic, production-related supplies and coordinating the flow of work and materials between departments. They will also identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency as part of the production process.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a master schedule for multiple manufacturing production lines to meet daily production goals for each value stream.
- Organize, formulate, and prepare master schedules to conform with customer-specific requirements (CSR), delivery dates, and manufacturing capacities to meet demand, while considering overtime expenses.
- Expedite and coordinate detailed scheduling and the systematic release of orders to the production department.
- Perform liaison with Corporate Customer Service, production, engineering, and others on matters pertaining to schedules, production, methods, materials, and designs to resolve day-to-day problems and improve systematic methods.
- Maintain surveillance over orders in process to keep informed of manufacturing status and, when needed, initiate the necessary steps to maintain conformity with schedules.
- Assist in identifying capacity and resource constraints and adjust schedules to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) goals.
- Aid in updating the master schedule to account for new orders and unplanned events, communicate changes to production supervisors.
- Manage printing and placement of work orders to the production floor.
- Create work instructions for each Finished Goods (FG) job.
- Create job orders in the ERP system as needed.
- Aid in inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and corrections.
- Purchase all raw materials, supplies, and other goods required to support production and maintain inventory levels, safety stock, and inventory turns.
- Produce daily open order reports, OTD reporting, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), or any other metrics as assigned.
- Attend Daily Manufacturing Meetings and Other Support Meetings.
- Support yearly physical inventory.
- Aid in continuous improvement projects.
- Update the Gemba boards daily before the team meets with OTD information.
- Various production and warehouse reports/projects assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
Requirements
- High level Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
- Organization and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Five plus (5+) years' experience in planning and scheduling, inventory control, internal expediting, and general supervisory work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate multi and changing priorities.
- Experience in ISO 9001 quality management system or equivalent preferred.
Qualifications

Benefits
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $95,000 to $110,000. Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as location, relevant experience, and performance.
