Senior Product Manager - Installation Mobile App

About the role

The Senior Product Manager will play a crucial role in helping Generac's dealers install, maintain, and troubleshoot their products in the field. The portfolio will include delivering applications, experiences, and processes that have a significant impact on thousands of dealers and millions of customers.

Responsibilities

• Internalize the user: Develop a deep understanding of installers, service technicians, and internal service organization. Identify gaps in their workflows and bring ambitious solutions to the table.
• Combine input from multiple business units with your own vision for the field experience, drive roadmap alignment, and earn executive buy-in through compelling communication, clear trade-offs, and decisions that close rather than linger.
• Build, don't spec: Prototype with AI tools, partner with engineering, design, and functional leaders to shape the solution as it's being built. Own outcomes, not features: Run pilots with real dealers, watch what they do, and iterate fast. Drive relentlessly toward the result you committed to, not the feature you scoped.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive Product Management experience with mobile/web applications.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives that required alignment across multiple business units or executive stakeholders, and shipping products that depend on hardware or firmware releases.

Skills

• Experience with mobile applications, particularly field or technician-facing apps.
• Experience with hardware-connected software products (IoT, energy systems, industrial equipment).
• Familiarity with solar, energy storage, generator, or adjacent industries.
• Track record of conceiving, developing, and launching new software products or SW/HW integrated solutions, with a strong focus on user-centered design and outcome-based metrics.

Pay

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Santa Monica, CA and North Billerica, MA is $152,200 - $197,800 and in South Portland, ME is $133,500 - $173,500. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location.
