Senior Procurement Buyer

About the role

As a Senior Procurement Buyer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering research projects by securing cost-effective, high-quality supplies and services, enabling Honeywell to maintain its competitive edge through innovation and technological excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize procurement processes to specifically adapt and support engineering IRAD projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and technical requirements.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate long term strategic agreements, and secure materials and services that meet quality and cost objectives while integrating into the IRAD IPT to ensure compliance with program and department compliance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand project needs and provide procurement solutions that support innovation and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably supporting engineering or R&D projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation within a technical environment.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools, with the ability to leverage technology to optimize purchasing processes.
• Experience working with engineering teams and understanding technical specifications to ensure procurement aligns with project requirements.
• Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; engineering, mathematics, or supply chain preferred.
• Advanced degree in Engineering is not required but helpful.
