Senior Process Engineer
Job Summary
Our Federal group is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support our expanding work in the DOE and DOD sectors. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in nuclear system design, safety-critical systems, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience with nuclear, chemical, or explosive-safety requirements in design
- Project execution from process studies to detailed design
- Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with junior staff
- Support business development with engineering estimates and proposal development
- Perform quality reviews and coordinate with EPC contractors
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge in engineering techniques and procedures
- Strong understanding of process design codes
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership and delegation abilities
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to perform quality reviews
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Skills
- Process simulation software (Hysys, Aspen, HTRI)
- EPC project experience
- NQA-1 environments experience
- Glovebox design experience
- Nuclear fuel processing facilities experience
- Exposure to HALEU and TerraPower
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 7 years of process engineering experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or related Engineering Technology with FE exam completion and 7 years of process engineering experience
- Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering with 6 years of process engineering experience
Security Clearance
The candidate must be eligible and able to obtain a DoE or DoD Security Clearance if required based on project needs. This role may be extended or converted to a full-time employee (FTE) for the right candidate.
