Senior Principal Scientist, Bioanalytical

About the role

ICON plc is seeking a new Senior Principal Scientist at ICON in Lenexa, Kansas (KS). The ideal candidate will lead and conduct scientific research aimed at advancing clinical trials and developing innovative therapies.

Responsibilities

• Lead method development and validation for testing preclinical and clinical specimens using flow cytometry, and ligand-binding analytical methods.
• Oversee transfer of robust flow cytometry methods for further bioanalytical testing.
• Designs and executes experiments for method development.
• Mentors junior scientists and advises operation on developed methods.
• Reviews and approves data of other scientists.
• Communicates with team members and management regarding project status, purpose, scheduling, problems, etc.
• Lead communication with clients regarding project status.
• Provides key assay input to the validation and bioanalysis team(s) to ensure successful execution.
• Assists with troubleshooting and performing maintenance, trouble-shooting, and repairs on advanced instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak fluent English.
• Spectral flow cytometry experience.
• 10-15 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• MS or PhD with applicable research in a relevant scientific field, preferred.
• Presenter/Publisher in Regulated relevant field, preferred.
