We are excited to be seeking a new Senior Principal Scientist at ICON in Lenexa, Kansas (KS). The Senior Principal Scientist will lead and conduct scientific research aimed at advancing clinical trials and developing innovative therapies. You will manage sponsor programs, shape assay strategies, and provide expertise for new and complex modalities. We are seeking candidates with proven method development and Spectral Flow Cytometry experience. What You Will Do The Senior Principal Scientist is responsible for method development and validation for testing preclinical and clinical specimens using flow cytometry, and ligand-binding analytical methods. In addition, you will oversee transfer robust flow cytometry methods for further for bioanalytical testing. Desired Experience (flow cytometry experience required, ligand binding experience preferred): Flow cytometry Experience with Spectral FlowPanel designGating strategy designUsage of cytometry software (e.g. FACSDiva, FCS express) Ligand binding assaysELISA, ECLIA PK, PD, and immunogenicityUsage of relevant software (e.g. SoftMax Pro, Watson) Method Development Designs and executes experiments for method developmentDevelops new scientific approaches to method development and communicates these to the global science teamMentors junior scientists and advises operation on developed methodsReviews and approves data of other scientistsCommunicates with team members and management regarding project status, purpose, scheduling, problems, etc.Lead communication with clients regarding project status. Scientific Maintain knowledge and skill in all techniques where you perform your work.Provide scientific input to management and BD about new technology investments and lines of service.Own discussions regarding scientific results with sponsors, together with project managerPromotes ICON utilizing scientific skills through scientific communication such as external publication of posters and journal articles.Perform R&D projectsTraining of technicians on technical aspectsMentor and train staff on scientific topics Quality and Timely Work Execution Takes initiative in process development and SOP/WI writingLegible, logical and reproducible documentation of all experimentationHas a thorough understanding and complies with GLP and other appropriate regulationsDevelops rugged and economical assaysPerforms data review of other scientist’s work Sample Analysis and Assay Validation Provides key assay input to the validation and bioanalysis team(s) to ensure successful executionAssay troubleshootingMay perform and document maintenance, trouble-shooting and repairs on advanced instrumentation with support of service engineers or other trained supervisory personnel.
