Senior Principal Business Operations Lead (Nashville, TN)
About the role
The Global Program Controls organization provides governance, reporting, controls processes, cost management support, and portfolio visibility to help Oracle Cloud Infrastructure deliver global data center programs with greater consistency, transparency, and execution discipline. This individual‑contributor role transforms complex operational and technical information into accurate, decision‑ready insights for senior executives. The successful candidate moves fluidly between detailed operational data and CEO‑level communication—digging into underlying facts, identifying inconsistencies, resolving ambiguity, and distilling results into clear, concise, and credible executive reporting. The position blends analytical judgment, executive communication, technical aptitude, and a delivery‑oriented mindset. Prior data‑center experience is not required; a genuine interest in learning technical subject matter is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Integrity and Analytical Rigor: Establish confidence in the accuracy, consistency, completeness, and traceability of critical business and operational data; investigate discrepancies across systems, reports, teams, and data sources; develop processes and controls that improve data quality and reporting reliability; identify gaps and create a defensible source of truth while balancing speed with precision.
- Executive Reporting and Communication: Translate highly technical or operational information into clear narratives for the CEO and senior executives; produce executive reports, briefings, presentations, and decision‑support materials; distill large volumes of information into key insights, risks, decisions, and actions; tailor depth, language, and format to the audience; anticipate executive questions and prepare supporting analysis.
- Business and Technical Learning: Build deep understanding of the company’s business model, operations, technology, customers, systems, and performance drivers; become conversant with data‑center operations, low‑voltage work, rack and compute deployment, hardware validation, testing, and server turn‑up; engage with engineers, operators, vendors, and SMEs to synthesize technical processes and risks.
- Program Execution and Problem Solving: Apply project‑manager discipline to ambiguous, cross‑functional work; define problems, organize workstreams, clarify owners, establish milestones, and drive deliverables; coordinate across technical, operational, finance, strategy, and leadership teams; manage multiple high‑priority requests while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment.
- Executive and Operational Support: Serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership on critical analyses, executive deliverables, and time‑sensitive business issues; independently own complex requests with limited direction; diagnose and resolve urgent “fire‑drill” situations; handle sensitive, confidential, or executive‑level information with discretion; provide flexibility for occasional support outside standard hours when urgent circumstances arise.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior, hands‑on operator who combines intellectual curiosity with an exceptional standard for accuracy. They enjoy digging deep into details without losing sight of the larger business narrative, questioning data sources, calculations, completeness, and story. They thrive on turning analysis into clarity, decisions, and action, and are energized by technical complexity and unfamiliar subject matter. While deep expertise in data‑center infrastructure is not required, a willingness to learn, engage with technical experts, and develop fluency to identify risks and communicate clearly is essential.
