About the role
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to direct and manage a team of electrical engineers performing power system analyses, including steady state (generation deliverability), dynamics, short circuit, and EMT studies using various power system software.
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead Generation Integration and load Interconnection studies within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) footprint.
- Oversee the timely completion of projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
- Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns regarding project study scope of work.
- Train, develop, and grow the capabilities of engineers within the team and the larger organization.
- Perform advanced and specialized studies of the power grid utilizing industry-standard analysis platforms such as PSLF, PSS/e, PowerWorld, TARA, ASPEN, CAPE, and PSCAD (preferred).
- Develop and review transmission study methodologies and processes, and lead process improvement efforts to enhance organizational efficiencies, maximizing team bandwidth while ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
- Support business development activities, including development of RFP responses and scope of work statements for clients, outlining deliverables and projected completion dates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Power Systems (advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years in the electric energy industry, with experience in power system studies, design studies, and/or interconnection processes.
- Experience with PSLF, PSS/E, PowerWorld, and PSCAD.
- Experience in generation interconnection and transmission planning studies in WECC, CAISO is a plus.

This position is open to remote work in the US or Canada. Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less).
