About the role
The Senior Phlebotomist performs a variety of laboratory duties including specimen collection, waived and moderate testing, and EKGs.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection
- Process specimens and ensure specimen integrity
- Conduct waived and moderate testing
- Perform EKGs
- Troubleshoot specimen collection and processing issues
- Maintain quality control standards
- Provide excellent patient and provider interactions
- Adhere to compliance and safety standards
- Travel to various locations as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- State-certified Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program
- BLS certification
- At least 1 year of experience in phlebotomy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of blood draw experience
- Knowledge of laboratory information systems
- Experience with EKGs and medical terminology
