Senior Performance Improvement Facilitator
About the Role
Under the direction of the System Director of Performance Improvement, this position supports Luminis Health’s System-wide Performance Improvement Integration and Project Management initiatives by ensuring strategies are implemented and principles/practices are incorporated in processes under transformation. The role implements and supports actions at a System level (LHAAMC, LHDCMC, McNew, LHCE) and/or site-level to drive improvements in key strategic priorities identified by Executive Leadership and/or Annual Operating Priorities, including quality improvement, revenue cycle/profitability, recruitment, retention, productivity, supply chain management, hospital throughput, downtime, and other critical processes.
The Senior Performance Improvement Facilitator manages and oversees multiple high-profile, high-priority, and multifaceted projects independently, serving as a key communicator for all stakeholder relationships, including Process Owners, Executive Sponsors, and Senior System Leaders. This role conducts PI Intake Consultations and Project Charter Meetings to initiate projects approved by the PI Director and Steering Committee, provides departmental educational guidance to PI Facilitators, and supports new hire onboarding. Additionally, the Sr. PI Facilitator assists the PI Director with in-person retreats, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Program, 5S Consultations, Departmental Strategy Retreats, and other facilitation needs.
Responsibilities
- Support the System Director of Performance Improvement, Steering Committee, and Executive Leadership Team in implementing a vision for positive changes in patient care and key strategic operational priorities by:
- Implementing tactical strategies to achieve the desired vision.
- Executing long- and short-term objectives to support value stream goals.
- Working with system and site personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process-related obstacles.
- Assisting in the change of systems/processes to support Lean initiatives.
- Act as a change agent to improve patient care processes through project management, active planning, and execution of Performance Improvement Events by:
- Facilitating or co-facilitating System and Site-specific Annual Strategic Priority setting and Deployment retreats.
- Supporting, designing, and executing event planning, preparation, and participation in projects, events, and “just do-its.”
- Participating in Gemba walks and coaching employees.
- Providing training on Lean Transformation tools and methodology.
- Following up on action plans and assisting teams to ensure improvements are sustained.
- Support the launch of activities to incorporate a culture of continuous improvement and “Systemness” by:
- Facilitating or co-facilitating Green Belt training programs.
- Identifying ongoing training needs.
- Communicating the direction of Lean Transformation initiatives across the Health System.
- Track all changes/improvements to provide Executive Leadership/Management assurance that changes are effective and lasting by:
- Evaluating areas after improvements are implemented.
- Posting/updating results to Mission Control Center boards.
- Reviewing new procedures/controls and appraising operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Resolving issues that arise during implementation and maintenance phases.
- Support the PI Director in departmental needs, PI Facilitator continuous education, and new hire onboarding by:
- Acting as department lead in the absence of the PI Director.
- Mentoring new hires and overseeing onboarding schedules.
- Assisting PI Facilitators with difficult project meetings, communication with senior stakeholders, or training opportunities.
- Support the activation of PI Initiatives and set stakeholder expectations by:
- Conducting PI Project Charter meetings to outline needs, expectations, and goals.
- Setting expectations of PI Resources for Project Stakeholders.
- Facilitating agreement on project plans with Executive Sponsors.
- Conduct system training consultations and project management tool oversight for the healthcare system by:
- Creating and customizing project management tools for departments as needed.
- Training employees on best PI/PM practices.
- Supporting employees with opportunity areas and conducting individual consultations.
- Perform other duties as identified by the System Director of Performance Improvement to further Lean Transformation initiatives and Integration efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree or related discipline required; Master’s preferred.
- Experience working in a world-class Lean environment highly preferred.
- Knowledge of basic PDSA, Lean concepts, and continuous improvement-based tools and techniques required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Project Management experience and/or knowledge of project management tools preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a continuous improvement and/or project management role.
Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
- PMP certification preferred.

Pay
$19—$23 USD per hour.
