About the role
The Senior People & Culture Business Partner will be a strategic right hand to our leaders, translating business goals into people strategy, coaching through conflict, and helping scale a culture worthy of the scholars we serve.
Responsibilities
- Coach through conflict, performance, complaints, leaves, accommodations, and employment law issues (with a focus on California)
- Lead investigations that are thorough, fair, and trusted
- Partner with leaders on organizational design, talent planning, and workforce strategy
- Shape big-picture initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, equity & inclusion, and employee experience
- Analyze People trends and metrics to recommend programs that move the needle
- Celebrate our core values and foster an inclusive, high-performing environment
- Stay informed on workforce dynamics, DEIB, and the future of work
Requirements
- 7+ years as a strategic HR Business Partner or HR Director
- Bachelor's degree required; SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred
- Expert-level employee relations skills and comfort with ambiguity and change
- Influence, judgment, and resilience to coach senior leaders
- Strong writing, presentation, and project management skills

Benefits
- Compensation range: $115,000–$165,000 full range; new hires typically start around $127,500–$139,999
- Up to 23 discretionary days off in year one, plus 23 paid holidays and office closures
