Senior Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities
- Own US Payroll Operations
- Own end-to-end multi-state US payroll processing across multiple entities, pay groups, and payroll vendors.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, compliantly, and on time.
- Maintain strong payroll controls through regular audits, reconciliations, and validation processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding, new state registrations, quarterly and annual filings (Forms 941, 940, W-2/W-2c), amendments, and resolution of agency notices.
- Administer regulated payroll components including 401(k) contributions, benefit deductions, equity compensation, imputed income, and taxable fringe benefits.
- Ensure payroll accounting accuracy and timely completion of payroll-related reconciliations.
- Investigate payroll issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term, scalable solutions.
- Support Global Payroll Operations & Drive continuous improvement
- Support the evolution of Salsify’s global payroll operating model, including implementation and ongoing optimization of Deel and future global payroll solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve global payroll documentation, SOPs, and operational playbooks.
- Standardize payroll processes across countries while respecting local compliance requirements.
- Identify and lead automation opportunities that reduce manual work and enhance the employee experience, leveraging AI tools where relevant.
- Partner with Systems on Workday enhancements and payroll integrations.
- Support payroll implementations, testing, and system enhancements as the function scales.
- Support the PX Operations Team
- Contribute to broader operational initiatives and provide support when business needs require it, including:
- Workday employee data management.
- Employee lifecycle queries and offboarding processes.
- Operational documentation and knowledge management.
- Cross-functional PX Operations projects and process improvements that enhance the employee and manager experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll operations, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong understanding of US and international payroll laws and regulations.
- Experience with payroll software and systems, particularly Workday.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and payroll software.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

The posted compensation range reflects the base salary for this position. In addition to base salary, some eligible roles may also have a commission plan or a bonus incentive.
