About the role
The Senior Patient Access Representative provides operational support and guidance to the Financial Clearance Manager, ensuring accurate, efficient, and customer-focused patient registrations, insurance verification, phone coverage, and interpreter coordination services across Stoughton Health.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Financial Clearance Manager in onboarding new members of the team, providing training and support to the department with complex registrations, insurance verification, and patient access workflows.
- Promotes best practices and ensures representatives' interactions with patients are consistent, professional, and compassionate throughout the patient access experience.
- Serves as the first point of contact for patients and acts as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical departments, interpreter services, and insurance agencies, creating a positive first impression for patients of Stoughton Health.
- Understands, performs, and fills in for all Patient Access Representative functions as needed.
- Focuses on staff scheduling, training and onboarding, operational support, issue resolution, workflow improvement, quality monitoring, and ongoing support to the team and the Financial Clearance Manager.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree
- Professional Experience: 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting performing or supporting functions related to scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral management, prior authorizations, coding, estimates, claims, billing or customer service.
Qualifications
- Basic Computer Skills
- Able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas, and prepare applicable charts for reports
