Position Overview

The Senior Organizational Development Consultant is a strategic contributor and trusted advisor responsible for leading complex learning and organizational development initiatives. The role emphasizes influence, system-level thinking, and scalable impact across the institution. The Senior Organizational Development Consultant will assess training needs; design, develop and manage learning programs; coordinate program specific outreach and communications; oversee CLOE’s credentialing process as well as facilitate a variety of professional development topics using blended learning formats. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external clients. Assesses client needs, diagnoses organizational challenges, and recommends appropriate solutions. Applies analytical thinking to evaluate options, scope work, and align solutions with organizational strategy.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

CLOE is responsible for developing the university’s leadership talent and providing learning workshops to enhance staff and faculty’s professional capabilities. CLOE also provides consulting support to colleges and functions within the following areas: organizational design, team effectiveness, strategic planning, and culture enhancement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in: Organizational Development, Adult Education, Human Performance Improvement, Human Resources Development, Leadership Studies, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field
  • 6 years of progressively responsible experience in: Leadership development, organizational development, or talent development AND Consultative roles involving needs assessment, solution design, and delivery
  • Experience must include: Independent project leadership, Custom program, academy and certificate design (not only delivery), Senior leader or executive-level engagement

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Master’s degree plus: Formal certification in coaching, instructional design, or talent development (e.g., ICF, CPTM, CPTD)
  • 8+ years of experience with demonstrated mastery in: Organizational development consulting, Executive coaching and facilitation, Designing enterprise-level or institution-wide programs
  • Proven experience: Advising senior leaders/executives, Closing proposals and scoping custom solutions, Managing adjuncts, vendors, or external facilitators
  • Experience in higher education or complex public-sector organizations strongly preferred
  • Experience with psychometric or 360 assessment tools (e.g., MBTI, CSI, LVI)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet and keyboarding
