Senior Operations Transformation Specialist

MaineHealth is seeking a Senior Operational Transformation Specialist to lead strategic improvement initiatives across the organization. This role drives process improvement, team development, change facilitation, and performance-driven initiatives through scientific methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.

About the role

The Senior Operational Transformation Specialist aligns operational excellence with systemwide goals and priorities. This position builds relationships with leaders at all levels, including clinicians, frontline care teams, and other stakeholders to assess and enhance systems for optimal organizational process outcomes. The role supports planning, execution, and monitoring of processes tied to the MaineHealth Strategic Plan Scorecard and overall Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Drive process improvement, team development, and change facilitation.
• Implement performance-driven initiatives using scientific methodologies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance systems and processes.
• Support planning, execution, and monitoring of processes tied to the MaineHealth Strategic Plan Scorecard.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Operations Management, Leadership, Organizational Development, Improvement Science, Behavioral Science, Systems Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in leadership and healthcare within the performance improvement space, process, and/or program leadership. Note: 5 years of experience as a Specialist I within the department may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree, with a commitment to complete the degree within 3 years of hiring.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, with a commitment to acquire Black Belt certification within 3 years. Lean Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Proficiency in applying the scientific method (PDCA, PDSA, Kaizen) for problem-solving.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across various disciplines and staff levels.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in computer software programs related to performance improvement.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $77,147.20 to $104,353.60 per year. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
