About the role

This is a senior, client-facing role blending two halves: roughly 50% delivery leadership and 50% business development. On the delivery side, you will architect the seamless integration of personal (field-based) and non-personal promotion (NPP) channels with AI at the core, designing intelligent, data-driven journeys. On the growth side, you will shape solutions, lead proposals, and build pipeline to position Axtria as the omnichannel partner of choice. The role is hybrid with regular in-person collaboration alongside client and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design and govern the end-to-end omnichannel orchestration strategy across a portfolio of clients, connecting field and NPP channels across multiple brands and therapeutic areas.
  • Partner with client analytics, brand, and sales leadership to define channel sequencing rules, trigger logic, and AI-powered next-best-action (NBA) frameworks that learn from engagement data while respecting HCP/patient preferences and channel fatigue thresholds.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor and primary liaison across client marketing, sales operations, data/analytics, and technology teams, translating orchestration strategy into executable business rules and machine-learning models within CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional governance forums to align client stakeholders on orchestration priorities, measurement, and continuous optimization.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for orchestration effectiveness (channel mix, engagement lift, message frequency, and user experience) and turn insights into iterative, data-driven improvements.
  • Ensure orchestration design complies with regulatory, legal, and privacy requirements governing pharmaceutical promotion.
  • Act as the go-to subject matter expert on omnichannel best practices and emerging AI and martech capabilities, scouting new technology and bringing bold recommendations to client and Axtria leadership.
  • Manage vendor, agency, and platform partnerships supporting orchestration execution.
  • Drive business development in collaboration with dedicated BD partners: shape omnichannel solutions and lead responses to client RFIs and RFPs, partnering with Axtria sales and solution teams to craft winning proposals.
  • Identify and pursue new-logo opportunities and expansion within existing accounts, building and qualifying pipeline across the pharmaceutical/life sciences market.
  • Establish market presence and thought leadership, representing Axtria’s omnichannel point of view externally and converting relationships into engagements.
  • Support account planning and commercial strategy, positioning Axtria as the omnichannel partner of choice across the region.

Requirements

  • 12–15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry, with direct experience in commercial, marketing, or sales operations roles.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience orchestrating both field and non-personal promotion channels.
  • Track record of business development: shaping solutions, contributing to RFIs/RFPs, and growing client relationships or pipeline.
  • Genuine curiosity for AI, GenAI, and emerging martech, with a drive to apply new technology for clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • Must be based in the New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania region and able to work under a hybrid model with regular in-person collaboration and travel to client sites.
  • Experience with pharma CRM and marketing automation/orchestration platforms; familiarity with AI-driven decisioning tools is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of the pharma regulatory and compliance environment.

Skills

  • Omnichannel journey design & orchestration: ability to architect end-to-end HCP/patient journeys across channels.
  • Pharma field force operations knowledge: deep familiarity with rep-triggered and personal promotion workflows.
  • Non-personal promotion (NPP) channel management: hands-on experience with email, web, programmatic execution.
  • CRM, marketing automation & AI decisioning platform expertise: Veeva CRM/Align, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Tealium, and emerging AI/decisioning tools or comparable platforms.
  • AI-powered next-best-action & trigger-based logic design: building rules engines and machine-learning models that sequence channels intelligently.
  • Business development & solution selling: shaping omnichannel solutions, leading RFI/RFP responses, and building qualified pipeline across pharma accounts.
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management: influencing brand, sales, medical, analytics, and IT teams without direct authority.
  • Data-driven decision making & analytics fluency: comfort defining KPIs, interpreting engagement data, and translating analytics into AI-enabled action.
  • Regulatory & compliance acumen: working knowledge of typical pharma MLR guidance and FDA promotional guidelines.
  • Change management & governance facilitation: leading forums that drive alignment across matrixed teams.
  • Vendor/platform partner management: overseeing external partners delivering orchestration technology and services.
  • Commercial acumen & deal shaping: scoping engagements, framing value propositions, and navigating client procurement and buying cycles.
