Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer provides senior leadership for projects and ensures best business processes are adopted. This position administers, organizes, plans, and directs the various networks at all OMC campuses to maintain appropriate service levels. The senior network engineer evaluates, plans, manages, and develops new telecommunications, WAN, and LAN technology, and documents policy and procedures for all network-based technology. They also train and update appropriate staff on network-based policies and procedures. Strong vendor relations are required for high-quality support, and excellent problem analysis and resolution skills are essential.

Requirements
Demonstrated experience of advanced management of both WANs and LANs is required. A comprehensive understanding of the OSI model is needed, along with experience troubleshooting and performance tuning LAN and WAN. Three years' experience with complex networks is preferred, including experience in routing, VLANs, 802.11, EIGRP, firewalls, and VPNs with Cisco ASAs. Experience with VMWare virtual networks and knowledge of advanced telecommunication and network system design and access techniques is also preferred. Core competencies in standard Linux commands are beneficial.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in computer science, engineering, or equivalent preferred.
- Two years’ demonstrated experience of advanced management of both WANs and LANs required.
- Comprehensive understanding of the OSI model.
- Experience troubleshooting and performance tuning LAN and WAN preferred.
- Three years’ experience with complex networks preferred.
- Experience in routing, VLANs, 802.11, EIGRP, firewalls preferred.
- VPN experience with Cisco ASAs preferred.
- Three years’ experience in VMWare virtual networks preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in advanced telecommunication and network system design and access techniques preferred.

Variable Pay Range: $95,035.20 - $155,064.00
