Job Responsibilities
- Support, design and continually improve IT LAN/WAN and OT network infrastructure.
- Lead lifecycle planning and execution including upgrades and refresh activities.
- Enhance and help evolve network management and automation platforms.
- Develop and maintain high-quality engineering documentation, including architectures, automation workflows, and operational standards.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network issues, driving root cause analysis and long-term remediation.
- Partner with business and IT teams to design and implement network solutions across enterprise and OT environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across network infrastructure and supporting platforms.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a technology related field and 7+ years of experience building and supporting network systems OR 2+ years post high school education or applicable training in a technology related field and 9+ years of experience engineering network systems.
- Hands-on, demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise network technologies (LAN/WAN, VLANs, VRFs, VPN, BGP/OSPF) in a Cisco environment.
- Proficiency with network automation tools and concepts including Python, Ansible, and GitLab.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems as they relate to network services, automation tools, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting next-generation firewalls and network security platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex, cross-platform issues.
- Able to independently manage competing priorities and contribute to projects with minimal direction.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with modern network management platforms (e.g., Cisco Catalyst Center, SD-WAN, EPNM, or similar).
- Strong understanding of network security concepts including 802.1X, digital certificates, identity-based access, Cisco ISE, and network segmentation.
- Familiarity with voice and collaboration technologies such as CUCM, WebEx, SIP, and Unified Communications.
- Working knowledge of MPLS core transport technologies, MP-BGP, Layer 3 VPN, and Ethernet LAN services.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
