About the role
The Senior Network Engineer will provide support to classified and unclassified Tier 3 senior-level support for the design, implementation, and deployment of network-specific technologies across the DEA Enterprise environment, consisting of hundreds of locations worldwide. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate across security, cloud, and infrastructure teams while supporting mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to classified and unclassified Tier 3 senior-level support for the design, implementation, and deployment of network-specific technologies across the DEA Enterprise environment, consisting of hundreds of locations worldwide.
- Provide engineering and operational support for cloud providers, including AWS and Azure, on-premise data centers, campus networks, Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Networks (DMVPN), Firewall, Layer 2/3, wireless networks, network applications installed on client workstations, optimization of various LAN and WAN environments, data center load balancing, and network access security to include 802.1x and Cisco ISE.
Requirements
- Active/current Secret Clearance is required at the time of hire.
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree in a related field or relevant work experience
- Expert knowledge of Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking including routing, switching, and troubleshooting at scale
- Strong experience with LAN, WAN, and global network optimization
- Strong expertise with 802.1X authentication
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Experience providing engineering and operational support for cloud networking in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
- Strong troubleshooting methodology and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience supporting strict change management and approval processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation discipline and operational rigor
- CCIE or CCNP certification is preferred
